The point in this article is to show how feed forward can often be preferable to feedback in every day interactions and can be effective and efficient and can make life more enjoyable. Feed forward helps people envision and focus on a positive future by giving people ideas on how they can be even more successful we can increase their chances of achieving this success in the future, constructively delivered feedback is often seen as negative as it necessarily involves a discussion of mistakes feed forward is almost always seen as positive because it focuses on solutions not problems. Feed forward is especially suited to successful people successful people like getting ideas that are aimed at helping them achieve their goals. Feed forward can come from anyone who knows about the task it does not require personal experience with the individual feed forward just requires having good ideas for achieving the task. People tend to listen more attentively to feed forward than feedback because people do not take feed forward as personally as feedback feed forward cannot involve a personal critique and feed forward tends to be much faster and more efficient than feedback.
How to give feedback without sounding like a jerk-feedback
I enjoyed this article and I learned how to give good feedback to people when giving feedback explain why you are giving feedback so it does not feel like you are attacking the person you are giving feedback to help them. Also take yourself off a pedestal negative feedback can make people feel inferior if you level the playing field it is a lot less threatening also ask if the person wants feedback so that they are less defensive about it. I am confident with giving people feedback if they want it I feel that feedback can be very helpful and can help to improve your work I do try not to be too critical when giving feedback as I do not want to make people angry or upset I do try to be nice about giving feedback and I have never had any issues so far with giving people feedback. Some strategies I would recommend about giving feedback is to ask if the person wants feedback before giving it and to try not to be critical and harsh about other peoples work. Some strategies I am thinking of trying this semester is to try be as helpful as I can with giving feedback and to give feedback to people who want it.
