Reading 5

Reading 5: Writing the body paragraphs  For this weeks reading I will be writing the body paragraphs for my chapter which is creating the user experience I will also be writing about my sub topics which are the design process of a game and the visual and audio elements of a game. I will be adding paragraphs to my chapter as it will keep all my information organised I will also be reading through all my articles and the matrix to gather information for my chapter. I will be using the textbook below as an example of what I have to lay out my writing as. Example So far I have wrote out my introduction for my chapter I have also wrote out an introduction to both of my topics I looked over all my articles that I have read and re wrote them for my introduction and sub topics I still do need to write a lot more but so far I feel like I am getting on top of my work and hopefully my chapter and topics come out really good and professional I am getting the hang of the readings and feel

Unity tutorial 05

Unity tutorial 05 I really enjoyed doing these tutorials for the first tutorial i had to make the animals eat the food by using c # script and box colliders I found this tutorial very helpful and entertaining I did have a bit of trouble with the script but eventually figured it out I really enjoy these tutorials a lot more this semester than I did last semester. For the challenge 2 I found it a bit difficult but got the majority of it done I like the way it challenges me to hard code without looking at other coding even though I do find it difficult at least I am learning a lot more c # script than I did last semester. I do feel like my coding is improving a lot but I am finding the challenges a lot harder than the unity tutorials as I am still not the best at c # coding. For the first tutorial I really liked learning how to get the animal to eat the pizza I have great fun playing the games when I am finished with the tutorials. Anyway so far I feel like the tutorials are really help

Reading 4

Reading 4 For this weeks reading I looked at all my sources for my topics which are the design process of a game and visual and audio elements I will be using the step by step to discursive writing to help me paraphrase and re write some of the material in the articles to create material that will be eligible for my topics on the chapter creating the user experience. So far I have looked at 10 readings I do need to do a lot more research before I begin writing but I do understand from this reading how to re write information from articles in a professional way I have also added a lot of my sources online to the matrix I have only added 7 of my readings but will add a lot more when I do more research I feel like now I know what I am doing I will fly through the research and once I start writing out all the material that I have researched I will get a better understanding of everything. Overall I feel like the research is helping a lot and so is the matrix the one thing I am findi

Unity tutorial 04

Unity tutorial 4 Surprisingly I am actually enjoying doing these unity tutorials it's nice to actually know what your doing especially with coding as I was so bad at it last year and hadn't a clue but now following these tutorials I feel like the coding is not as bad as I taught. I enjoyed learning how to move the character from left to right without falling off the screen also learning how to get the pizza and animals to a certain speed with the disappearing without flying across the screen. The thing that I enjoyed the most about the tutorials this week was spawning in the animals I had great craic slamming down on me S key seeing a bunch of animals flying across me screen. Anyway I feel like these tutorials are really good and I am actually learning a lot about c# script a lot more than I did with Jimmy Vegas anyway I just feel that these tutorials are a lot easier to understand and I am actually typing out the code so I am learning a lot more by doing that which I probabl

Unity tutorial 03

Unity tutorial 03 I enjoyed these unity tutorials I found the scripting on the tutorials helpful and useful but I did struggle with the challenge one as I am still a amateur at scripting and find it kind of confusing sometimes I struggled with the challenge but I did get it to fly forward other than the challenge I think it is good to try to do sum hard coding but I personally just do not think I am the best at c# script coding so did struggle a but. I did find the unity tutorials about moving the car backward, forward, side to side and rotation very useful and really enjoyed it I feel like I am enjoyed these tutorials a lot better than the other tutorials last semester and I feel like they are a lot easier to understand which is great. Even though I did not really finish the challenge because I am not the best at scripting and didn't really understand how to do some of it I did complete some parts of it and was good to challenge myself and learned a lot from these tutorials es

Unity tutorial 02

Unity tutorial 02 I enjoyed doing these unity tutorials I found them useful but I did know the majority of stuff other than most of the coding already from past unity tutorials I do enjoy these tutorials a lot better then the Jimmy Vegas ones I feel like there a lot easier to follow. I think the scripting part of these tutorials are really helpful and interesting and it is good to learn more about scripting as I did struggle with it a lot last semester but I found the scripting in these tutorials very helpful I also really liked finding out about putting a play mode tint on the screen as it is helpful because sometimes you forget you are in play mode.  I also liked that he explained how to do some shortcuts around unity which was very helpful because sometimes I can't figure out how to get back to the front view or side view etc but now I know how to do shortcuts of the viewpoints I also found the rigidbody's helpful but I did learn that last semester so that the box woul

Reading 3

Reading 3: Doing my research Before I started reading loads of articles for my research I learned how to fully engage in the readings and what is the best things to do when reading them and post-reading. I looked on google scholar but did not find any articles that were helpful on game design process or on visual and audio elements in a game but I did find some articles on google. So far I have scanned over one article for each topic which I taught were helpful towards my research. The first article that I looked at for the design process of a game was  Game design process  by Francois Dominic Laramee I found this article very helpful and useful so I took down notes that I taught would be beneficial to my research. The first article I looked at for  visual and audio elements  was  Visuals and audio elements  by Aki Järvinen which I scanned over to see if it was suitable for my research which it was so I took some notes. I feel like the matrix excel sheets helped a lot with my

Reading 2

Reading 2: planning my approach Hello, welcome back to my blog the two topics that I have chosen are design process also visual and audio elements which are from the chapter creating a user experience. To help with my research I wrote out a bunch of questions which would help with my research which were: 1)What is the design process of a game? 2)What is the process of a game? 3)How is the design process applied to a game? 4)What are the visual and audio elements in a game? 5)How are visual and audio elements applied to a game? The two questions that I feel would work best with my research would have to be what is the design process of a game? and how are visual and audio elements applied to a game? I feel like my research questions complete the research question checklist and that it will make research a lot easier. Keywords to help with my research: Design process visuals sound audio color texture lighting testing production research scale elements game desi
